Baby teeth are only present for a few years, but even though they are temporary, they play an important role in your child’s development. Little hands lack the coordination for flossing effectively on their own. By nine years old, most kids can handle dental floss without help. Plastic flossers may be easier for children to handle when they are first learning how to floss teeth correctly. Due to the dangers of swallowing mouthwash, you shouldn’t add it to your child’s dental care routine until he or she reaches six years of age.
